This piece was inspired by the various male choruses I accompanied throughout my childhood. “Lift Up Your Heads” should be sung in a gospel style, specifically Black gospel. A bass guitar and drums may be added to support the accompaniment. Ad libs should begin at measure 38 and continue to the end of the piece. I hope your ensembles enjoy singing this piece!
